As a designer who types slowly, I often find myself unable to quickly capture my thoughts through typing. So I usually opt for handwriting notes on my iPad instead of typing, even though it can be inconvenient due to the iPad’s size. However, the emergence of ChatGPT has made me rethink my approach to note-taking, such as using voice to record thoughts. This shift has reignited my interest in an early idea and prompted me to start designing this app.
ideaShell is A Tool for Thinking and Memory
Traditional note-taking and inspiration software merely scratch the surface of recording ideas—they act as external storage, unable to evolve beyond bits and bytes. In comparison to pen and paper, their only advantages are easier retrieval and portability, but the difference is not significant. We harness the power of AI to help people record thoughts faster and think more effectively, turning daily musings into actionable insights, and ultimately serving as a secondary brain to foster personal growth.

Ideas are spontaneous and often emerge abruptly. Due to the complexity and slowness of typing, many ideas are lost. That’s why we choose voice input and integrate it with your mobile device to capture inspirations as swiftly as possible. (For example, Siri, Shortcuts, Action Button, etc.) The content, enhanced by AI, is structured logically, distilled to its essence, and stripped of unnecessary filler, resulting in clear, efficient notes that are easy to understand.（Of course, it also supports recording ideas via keyboard.）

Now, with the capability of voice recognition, we can easily record your emotional diary and enrich the diary format through the iPhone’s diary suggestion feature, significantly reducing the difficulty of recording diverse content. Of course, your data is secure and confidential.

At the end of each day, AI automatically summarizes your day, addresses your queries, and provides feedback and suggestions based on your emotions. You can also continue to share your thoughts with AI.
